Walt Sanders counsels corporate and association clients before the U.S. Congress and Federal regulatory and enforcement agencies. He was Co-Director, Federal Relations Group for Barnes & Thornburg, LLP, advising clients on legislative, legal, and regulatory issues. Walt also served as Counsel to the Chairman of the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC). Walt was Counsel and Legislative Director for then-Chairman of the House Energy and Commerce Committee, John D. Dingell.

Industry Awards
The Society is pleased to announce that the Discovery Awards will now be called the SGCDpro Design Excellence Awards. The awards will be judged by Deco attendees and awards will be presented in 10 categories with a special Director's award being presented by the SGCDpro Board.
The Bert Vandenoever Award is the highest honor among Discovery Award entrants and is given to the single entry judged best of show by SGCDpro seminar attendees.
The Frank S. Child Award honors individual achievement in the industry. Named for the Society's first executive secretary and founding member (now executive secretary emeritus), the award recognizes extraordinary contribution to the decorating industry.
The Founder's Award is presented at the discretion of the Board for outstanding contributions to the Society.
